Why are Serious Readers’ Lights so expensive?

I understand why you might be skeptical. In a world where you can order a £30 floor lamp from IKEA, why would you spend £300 on a reading light? The fully flexible arm means that I am able to bend the light into the perfect position. Previously, my floor lamps had filled the room with light more generally, but this one concentrates the light into a particular spot. I’m the kind of creative who gets a huge boost in the middle of the night, so this light will be perfect for my working pattern.
