Tripp Suitcase Review: The Holiday 6 Case

I remember the first time that I saw a piece of Tripp luggage on Instagram. It was a banana yellow Holiday 6 case, with a hard shell and four wheels. It looked so stylish! And once I’d invested in one myself I felt like I was part of a secret club - I saw them everywhere. In the airport, on the train, and even just being wheeled around London.

Today I’m going to answer the questions that I know are in your head: are Tripp suitcases worth the money? Are they as practical as they are stylish? And most importantly, are they worth investing in?

Which cases do I have?

I currently have two Tripp suitcases, a large case in turquoise and a medium case in ice blue - both from their Holiday 6 range. If you’re looking for a large case to take on long trips, such as a two week beach holiday or a long-haul break to America or Australia, then this size will be perfect. It would also make a great couples suitcase, if you’d rather have just the one between two of you. It’s honestly huge and there’s heaps of space inside to fit all of your essentials, and plenty of room for your holiday purchases!

The medium suitcase on the other hand, is much more modest than the large, but still very spacious. I’d say that it’s perfect for a week long break, and it’s definitely the case that I use most often. Personally, I’m quite an overpacker and I like to bring lots of belongings with me when I travel, so I haven’t bothered with the cabin case as I know that it would be too small for me. If you’re more of a light packer, however, and would like something that you don’t have to check into the hold of an aeroplane, then the cabin case might be a good option for you.

Looking inside the case

Inside, this range is pretty standard. On the right there are packing straps to hold your precious belongings in place, and on the left is a zipped pocket for all of the bits and pieces that you want easy access to.

What I love the most about these cases is just how pleasant they are to use. The outer zips are chunky and glide effortlessly around the shell without getting caught, and wheels are really easy to manoeuvre without ever getting stuck. Even when I’ve packed my luggage full to the brim for a trip that I’m going on, the cases don’t feel heavy, and I frequently wheel them along beside me rather than dragging them behind and feeling weighed down by my cargo. They feel durable and the hard exterior is strong - there’s even a lock if you’re feeling particularly worried about someone rooting through your case while you’re not looking.

I think it’s fair to say that I’m a big fan of the Tripp suitcase. As well as looking gorgeous and feeling like a fashion accessory, they’re great quality and aren’t even particularly expensive. If you’re considering investing in some new luggage for your next trip then I would highly recommend picking up one of their fantastic ‘Holiday 6’ cases.

How much do they cost?

I have recently updated this section to reflect the latest model, the Holiday 8 Case.

The large case costs £72 and has a capacity of 102 litres, while the medium case is £52, and can hold up to 66 litres, and the cabin case is just £47.50 and holds 37 litres. All of these are frequently discounted on Amazon. They’re all available in a range of colours: turquoise, mint, watermelon, lemon, and slate.
