Sleeping in a Treehouse! | A Stay at Wootton Park

(Ad – I stayed free of charge but all opinions are my own)

Nestled high in the treetops of the Warwickshire countryside, just down the road from Shakespeare’s Stratford-upon-Avon, are Wootton Park’s gorgeous TreePods. Glamping pods on stilts, with bubbling hot tubs and amazing views, we stayed in one of the two, Heavens Above, for just one night.

I was so impressed with our little treehouse when I walked in. It was small enough to be lovely and cosy but large enough to feel luxurious and equipped with all of the necessities. Not only is there a little bathroom with running water, but there’s also a kitchen, TV, underfloor heating, bedding and other essentials, like a hairdryer (very much needed when you have long hair and there’s a hot tub involved!).

After settling in we rustled up a yummy microwave dinner (unfortunately I am not a culinary genius), and got ready to jump in the hot tub. If you’re staying for more than one night or fancy doing some actual cooking, the accommodation is complete with a hob, fridge, and all of the crockery and cutlery that you would need. You really don’t need to bring anything with you other than your personal items, as it’s all here ready to use.

It was great to have a little bathroom included in the pod, complete with towels and cosy bathrobes. It really added to the treehouse’s luxury feel and honestly didn’t seem like glamping at all! It was like we had our own apartment up in the trees.

My favourite part of the pod, of course, had to be the wonderful hot tub out on the decking. Already bubbling ready to go, we spent our evening relaxing outside and it truly felt like I’d been transported to another country – despite the drizzly English weather! It felt lovely and private as we could only just about see the nearby pods, and we didn’t see another person at all. I can’t remember the last time I felt as relaxed as I did after a few hours in this idyllic spot. The views were gorgeous and made for a wonderful atmosphere.

As an animal lover, I was delighted to stumble upon some lovely farm animals while returning my key to the farmhouse the next day. There was a field full of friendly hens, alpacas, and an enormous rooster! Wootton Park’s ethos is to provide people with unforgettable, unique and magical experiences, and they also support the local community by using local products and encouraging the wildlife.

Accommodation and pricing

From the Super Pods and Mega Pods to the Woodland and Tree Pods, there’s a wide range of accommodation to choose from if you fancy booking your own stay. They have glamping pods suitable for couples, families and groups alike, and also host wellness retreats on what they call ‘self-care Sundays’.

Prices vary for each type of accommodation but the Tree Pods, where I stayed, cost £195 per night. For a cheaper option, the Mega Pods are only £135 a night and while they don’t have the same novelty as the Tree Pods, they do have the same luxurious feel and boast their own private hot tubs, surrounded by beautiful rolling hills.

Getting here

The easiest way to reach Wootton Park is by car, and there is free parking for guests to use on site.

By train, the nearest station is Wootton Wawen, which is just a 20 minute walk or a three minute drive away from the pods. I would recommend booking a taxi in advance to ferry you the rest of the way.

Thanks again to Wootton Park for hosting me! You can check their availability and book your own stay on the website here.
