Lakeland StaySnug Electric Heated Throw Review

As the cold weather draws in, many people will be thinking about how they can keep themselves and their homes warm this winter without spending huge amounts of money. To help with this, my partner and I have recently invested in a few household items that we hope will make a big difference.

One of these is the Lakeland StaySnug Electric Heated Throw, which we initially purchased in Velvety Green. Our first impression was good - I loved the colour, it was very soft and the throw heated to a good temperature. It also comes with a remote control attached to the power cable, which allows you to turn the throw on and off, set the temperature and the timer as well. It’s the ideal size for one person, which was actually the reason why we decided to return it. As my partner and I spend a lot of time sat on the sofa in the evening, we thought that it would be better for us to have a larger throw that we could share.

Lakeland have a 3 year guarantee that comes with all of their products, so we returned ours in store and instead picked up the StaySnug Sherpa XL Heated Throw in Charcoal. It did cost slightly more than the original throw, but we managed to snag one that was on offer due to damaged packaging.

The new throw was perfect for us, much larger and perfect for two people. The only downside is is the colour, which is charcoal grey instead of green. Unfortunately they didn’t have a green throw in the larger size so I decided to settle for a different colour.

Pricing

The original StaySnug Electric Heated Throw in Velvety Green cost £69.99 on the Lakeland website, while the XL Sherba Heated Throw was £119. We managed to find it on sale in store as the box had damaged packaging.

The main difference between the two is the size: the XL throw is 200 x 160cm while the smaller throw is 160 x 120cm.

Is it Worth Buying?

For me, I would say that the Lakeland StaySnug Electric Heated Throw is definitely worth purchasing. Although we don’t yet know how much money we will save by using this over the winter, I’ve found that the quality of the throw is really high.

The fabric is soft, the throw heats up to a good temperature, and comes with 9 heat and time settings. Both blankets were made from thick, good quality material that is cosy and pleasing to touch.

Last year I reviewed the Stoov Ploov cushion and found that it didn’t live up to the hype. One of Lakeland’s heated throws would definitely be a better alternative in my opinion.
