A Stay at the Roseate Villa, Bath

Upon entering the Roseate Villa, it was easy to see why it’s regarded as one of Bath’s popular five star hotels. Run with the feel of a luxury bed and breakfast as opposed to a faceless hotel chain, the staff were immediately friendly and welcoming, happy to store our luggage until our room became available later that day.

As you can see, the reception area and hallways were decorated with bookshelf wallpaper, which I loved and made a great first impression! Each of the bedrooms themselves at the hotel are individually themed, and I instantly adored the decor of our room. With a green and grey colour scheme, floral wallpaper and plush furnishings, the room had a classic yet comfortable feel. My only criticism is that the bedrooms really could do with having some air conditioning installed - although this may not be possible due to the style of the building and to retain its classical features. The room really was stifling in the height of summer, and despite providing a fan which helped to keep us cool, ultimately we did struggle with the intense heat inside the hotel.

This was our lovely little room…

The food was absolutely delicious!

We opted to eat out for most meals in order to give Bath’s culinary scene a try, but breakfast at the hotel was absolutely delicious.

Once again the service was impeccable, with staff asking us to phone down the night before to order our breakfast, which would be ready to serve at our booked time the following morning. As you can see from the photos, I tried their pancakes one morning and an omelette the next - both were delectable. I’d highly recommend making the most of their fantastic breakfast menu.

If you do fancy having a few more meals at the hotel, the Roseate Villa also serves lunch, dinner and afternoon tea, plus the bar is also open for drinks and cocktails throughout the afternoon and evening.

The Roseate Villa is a beautiful hotel that really captures the vibe of the city. With high quality service and delicious food, it makes the perfect accommodation for a romantic escape from every day life. I’d just recommend timing your visit not to coincide with extreme temperatures!
