3 Beautiful Plant Shops to Visit in Edinburgh

Edinburgh is paradise for any houseplant enthusiast. On top of the city’s multitude of glorious bookshops and cosy cafes, you’ll find a smattering of wonderful plant shops that will top any garden centre you’ve visited before.

Here are the three that you need to visit when you’re in Edinburgh.

Grow urban

Both my favourite plant shop and one of my go-to spots for a coffee and a piece of cake, Grow Urban has two sites in the city. Their original shop is in Fountainbridge, and their newest site can be found in Stockbridge.

Stepping into Grow Urban for the first time is like discovering a gateway into the centre of the jungle. Shopping there is a truly immersive experience, and there are multiple rooms filled with foliage. I always find multiple plants for my collection when I visit, and just wish that they deliver outside of the city! The good news is that, if you are lucky enough to live in Edinburgh, you can order their gorgeous plants to be delivered to your front door.

Green. Meadows

Located down by The Meadows, south of the city centre, you’ll find Green. Meadows. This shop is chockablock with plants, and stocked with curious specimens that any collector will love. A pink Peace Lily, anyone?

The sales assistants here are absolutely lovely and you can tell that they are huge plant enthusiasts themselves. You can actually keep in touch with them via their email address if you need any help or advice with looking after your new planty purchases, which I think is really cool.

moss & Fern

Last but not least is Moss & Fern, another lovely little plant shop that you’ll find down by The Meadows. A small but inviting shop with a delicious aroma, they stock a brilliantly curated selection of plants and I particularly enjoyed the terrariums with toy dinosaurs roaming inside. What a delight!

I hope you have a wonderful trip to Edinburgh filled with lots of beautiful new plants. Do let me know if you visit any of the shops on my list as I’d love to hear about it.
